On May 13, 2021, CHMC Cambodia Tatay Hydropower Station successfully completed the Class C Maintenance of the Generator Unit.

Cambodian Tatay Hydropower Limited (a subsidiary of CHMC, abbreviated as CTHL hereinafter), first stipulated a clear division of work and responsibility for each team, then overcame the adverse impact of COVID-19 epidemic in Cambodia, struggled for more than 50 days, and eventually successfully completed Class C Maintenance of the Generator Unit. The Maintenance consisted of 8 categories, the mechanical, the primary electrical, and the secondary electrical, a total of 222 equipment inspection, examination, test and maintenance, including 209 Class C standard maintenance items and 13 non-standard items. CTHL timely handled the problems and defects found, such as the mechanical modification of the air brake control system. At the same time, CTHL, taking advantage of time period of the Class C maintenance, drained out the water in the tail water area, accomplished the maintenance of the tailrace gate slot of the Generator Unit 3.

At 17:53, March 30, the Generator Unit 1 was successfully synchronized to the grid. At 14: 00, April 15, the Class C maintenance of the Generator Unit 2 was finished. From May 11-13, all the maintenance personnel worked overtime, and at 21:10 May 13, the Class C maintenance of the Generator Unit 3 was finished, which marked that all Class C maintenance of 3 Generator Units were accomplished. During the startup test, 3 Units were in good operating condition and had been put into operation.

The COVID-19 epidemic affected the maintenance work of Tatay Hydropower Station. The operation and maintenance personnel of the Power Station could not in time take turns for holiday rest as usual, and the domestic accessories and materials could not be delivered to the Power Station as planned. CTHL maintenance personnel took the initiative to give up their leave and tried every means to seize the time and ensured the maintenance progress, and with a high sense of responsibility, and finally won the 'Critical Battle' of maintenance, which laid a solid foundation for power generation in the upcoming rainy season.
