Recently, amid the severe COVID-19 situation in Laos and the tightening of various prevention and control measures, CHMC Project Department of Laos Nam Ngum 4 Hydropower Station, made every effort to ensure that the mechanical and electrical installation work were carried out in an orderly manner and all construction sites proceeded smoothly as scheduled.

The stator was the core component of the generator. After Unit 1 generator stator installation plan was approved, CHMC Project Department immediately coordinated relevant companies, flexibly used a variety of transport channels, ensured that the equipment and materials in urgent need were transported to the site. Under the witness of the owner and supervisor, the stator assembly passed the high-pressure test on December 31, 2021, and then the assembly work was also successfully completed. On January 20, 2022, the generator stator of Unit 1 of Nam Ngum 4 Hydropower Station was successfully lifted and installed into the foundation pit.

Lifting and installing of the generator stator was a difficult work, with a long work cycle and a high-quality requirement. CHMC Project Department actively communicated and coordinated with the owner and supervisor. With the cooperation of the construction company and the equipment manufacturer, the one-time lifting and installing was smoothly achieved, which laid a solid foundation for the subsequent installation work.
