On June 2, the stator magnetization test for the first generating unit of Cambodian Upper Tatay Hydropower Station, constructed by China National Heavy Machinery Corporation (CHMC), was successfully completed.

The stator has an outer diameter of 7.71 meters, an inner diameter of 5.5 meters, and a height of 3.385 meters. After lamination, the stator core weighs approximately 110 tons. Stator core lamination is one of the most critical steps in stator assembly, serving to carry magnetic flux, secure windings, reduce eddy current losses, and provide structural support. Following the lamination process, the working team of Cambodian Upper Tatay Hydropower Co., Ltd. (CUTHL) conducted the stator magnetization test to verify the manufacturing quality of the silicon steel sheets, the electrical performance of the laminated core, and the insulation integrity of the core itself. The test also helped compact the core further through vibration and heat-induced settling.

Prior to stator core lamination, the working team of CUTHL conducted a meticulous and scientific review of the assembly plan in coordination with supervision engineers, manufacturer, and installation contractor. During the process, the team optimized assembly procedures based on actual site conditions, implemented shift work patterns, and adopted multiple safety protection measures. Despite challenges including extreme heat, high humidity, frequent rainfall, and power outages, the team managed to complete all construction work on schedule through concerted efforts.

CHMC will continue to strengthen its management of safety, quality, schedule, and investment controls to ensure smooth and orderly project execution, making every effort to guarantee that the project commences power generation in 2026 as planned.
