As of 24:00 on September 22, 2025, Cambodian Tatay Hydropower Station, invested in and operated by CHMC, had generated a cumulative total of 858,767,870 kWh of electricity—reaching and surpassing its designed annual generation target 100 days ahead of schedule. This marks the 11th consecutive year the project has exceeded its designed generation capacity. In August alone, the Station produced 185,644,700 kWh of electricity, setting a new record for the highest monthly generation in its operational history.
This achievement stems from the systematic operations and maintenance management by Cambodian Tatay Hydropower Limited (CTHL). Between late 2024 and the onset of the 2025 rainy season, CTHL carried out six major categories of generating unit overhauls, spanning a total of more than 120 days. These efforts laid a solid foundation for the Station’s high-load, long-duration, safe, and stable operation throughout the 2025 rainy season. During peak generation periods, operations and maintenance personnel fulfilled their duties with precision and dedication, closely monitoring all generation and transmission systems to ensure the three generating units operated at full capacity and maintained continuous stability.
CTHL has always maintained an excellent cooperative relationship with Electricité du Cambodge (EDC), strengthening communication and coordination on an ongoing basis. Particularly during the rainy season, CTHL promptly reports rainfall and inflow conditions in the reservoir area to EDC dispatchers, actively supporting EDC’s scientific scheduling and load optimization. This close coordination ensures that “not a single drop of water in the reservoir is wasted,” maximizing the economic benefits of water resources and achieving mutual benefit and win–win outcomes.
Upholding its operational philosophy of “ensuring safety, generating more power, and enhancing efficiency,” CTHL remains committed to contributing to CHMC’s high-quality and sustainable development.
