On September 12, China National Heavy Machinery Corporation (CHMC) and the Myanmar Railways Authority officially signed a contract for the Battery Electrification Retrofit Project of Myanmar’s diesel locomotives in Nay Pyi Taw, the capital of Myanmar. This project marks another significant achievement for CHMC in its sustained cultivation of the Myanmar market. It also represents a new breakthrough for the company in the field of new energy retrofitting for rail transit locomotives.

Leveraging this project as a foundation, CHMC will continue to cement its presence in the Myanmar market and actively explore cooperation in areas such as rail transit equipment. These efforts aim to support the upgrade of Myanmar’s infrastructure connectivity, deepen China-Myanmar transportation cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, and contribute to mutual benefits and common development for both nations.
