The transportation industry has always played an important role in economic and social development. CHMC has engaged in transportation infrastructure construction by contracting projects both within China and abroad, including large port terminals for coal, ore, grain, fertilizer, cassava and containers. As part of these projects, CHMC provides turn-key services in terms of design, geological surveys, civil construction, equipment design and manufacturing, construction and commission, pilot operation and the construction of private raw material wharfs for steel plants, cement plants, power stations, roads, railways and airports.
The loading and unloading and control system project of the Phase I coal and ore terminal project of Xinsha Port, Huangpu, Guangzhou, is a national key project constructed with a loan from the World Bank and includes an annual cargo handling capacity of 9.2 million tons. CHMC has taken on the turnkey project general contracting of system design, geological survey, engineering design and construction, equipment design, supply, stand-alone and system commissioning, personnel training and technical services, all of which it will carry out until production begins.
The Qinhuangdao Port Coal Terminal is located in Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province, and is owned by the Qinhuangdao Port Authority. The design capacity of the Phase II project is 20 million tons per year, and that of the Phase III project is 30 million tons per year. The project has been co-designed and co-manufactured by CHMC along with IHI Corporation of Japan and PWH of Germany to provide a complete set of loading and unloading conveyor and control systems including a 3,000-3,600 tons/hour bucket wheel stacker-reclaimer, a 4,320 tons/hour triple-car dumper and a conveyor belt with a bandwidth of 1,800-2,200 mm. This equipment has been implemented with the Qinhuangdao Coal Terminal Phase II and Phase III projects, respectively. It has provided 3,600 tons/hour coal sampling equipment for Phase IV of the Qinhuangdao Coal Terminal Project. In addition, it has engaged in a contractual agreement on a complete set of equipment for the Qinhuangdao Food Transport Terminal with annual throughput of 2 million tons.
