On May 20, 2021,the Southern Part 230kV Line (Kratie to Mondulkiri) and the 230kV Mondulkiri Substation of CHMC Cambodia East Loop Net Phase Ⅰ(abbreviated as  East LoopⅠ hereinafter) Project, achieved power transmission. Thus, the East Loop Ⅰ Project achieved power transmission of the whole line.

The Kratie to Mondulkiri Line applies the double return and double earthing in the same tower. It goes through the mountain area, forest, complex terrain, with difficult equipment transportation. Since the implementation of the Project, CHMC Project Department overcame the field construction difficulties in the rainy season, slow land acquisition and COVID-19 epidemic, strictly observed the Project execution safety, paid close attention to quality management, and finally successfully completed the Project construction work.

The 230kV Mondulkiri Substation is the first 50MVA high-voltage substation in this area, and is the hub to connect Kratie with the Oakwa Gold Mine. As an important part of Cambodia's State Grid, the power transmission of the Southern line will greatly alleviate the shortage of electricity shortage for residents along, provide a strong energy guarantee for the Oakwa Gold Mine, and create favorable conditions for the rapid economic development of the region.
