On April 18, 2003, Xining Special Steel large Bar Semi-tandem Rolling Mill line project contracted by CHMC was successfully completed and put into production. Xining Special Steel held grand opening ceremony. CHMC Deputy General Manager Yue Jianzhong attended the opening ceremony and made speech on behalf of the main contractor and all the participants for the construction. General Manager of Xining Special Steel praised CHMC for the supplied six high continuous rolling mill with advanced technology, high quality, short construction period, cost effect,and quick result. The building up of the large bar semi-tandem rolling mill has ended the history of lacking modern rolling mill in Xining Special Steel and paved solid foundation for development and bright future of Xining Steel.

In the project, CHMC supplied 6 high continuous rolling mill trains to Xining Steel as main contractor for the first time. It adopts the world advanced high rigid short stress path rolling mill and auxiliary facility, the critical parts are all imported. It features in state-of-art technology in rolling, high automation, compact structure of machinery and equipment, big rolling capacity, easy operation and maintenance, etc. To ensure the construction schedule of Large Rod Rolling Project of Xining Steel and fulfill design and manufacture in high quality, the Heavy Machinery Department of CHMC organized a project group, led by the department manager, and selected competent designers, experienced and responsible project managers to work earnestly. At the same time, they carefully select good suppliers with strong manufacture capability, good reputation, thus guaranteeing the smooth construction and put into production.
