The first 18/525Kv -467MVA step-up transformer contracted by CHMC with Vietnam Son La Hydropower Station, finished the factory test during 20—30 October, 2009.
The Vietnam owner paid great attention to the test and sent a 6-person-delegation to the transformer company, China XD Group in Xi’an, to supervise the whole test process.
When coming to the fifth tested item, "open circuit loss measurement ", the instrument panel showed "207.26kW ", the owner smiled because the open circuit loss stipulated in the Contract was 240kW, so this equipment would save 287000 kwh /year for the owner.
According to the contract provisions, the first transformer should be delivered in March, 2010 (Vietnam HAIPHONG), and the manufacture was finished 4 months earlier. Now the product was packed and was ready to be transported to Shanghai Port.
From 20- 22 November, 2009, the 2×350t portal cranes(to be installed on the top of the dam) made by Sanmenxia Xinhua Hydraulics Machinery Co., Ltd, for the lock gate project in the Vietnam Son La Hydropower Station, successfully passed the factory test.  The Vietnam owner sent 4 personnel to Sanmenxia, supervised the whole test process.
The test covered the no load trial run of the gate frame, hoisting mechanism, long travel mechanism, trolley running gear. The owner was very satisfied with the experimental results and signed the test report.
The test mentioned above was achieved due to the good cooperation between CHMC and the manufacturer and their common efforts.
CHMC management also attached great importance to the project by supporting with sufficient funds, which ensured a favoring manufacture and test.
Then the project team would go all out to finish the delivery of the aforesaid large equipment.
