MEDIUM VOLTAGE RURAL GRID EXTENSION PHASE1 & SUBSTATIONS EPC CONTRACT SIGNED

On Dec.13, 2010, the signing ceremony of “Medium Voltage Rural Grid Extension Phase1 & Sub-stations EPC Contract” was held in the Great Hall of the People, Beijing. Under the witness of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and Cambodian Prime Minister H.E. Hun Sen, H.E. Keo Rottanak, RGC Delegate, in charge of Managing EDC, and Mr. Lu Wenjun, the president of CHMC, on behalf of EDC and CHMC separately signed on the Contract.

The delegation of China includes Mr. Yang Jiechi, Foreign Minister; Mr. Zhang Ping, Vice Minister in charge of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC); Mr. Chen Ping, Vice Commerce Minister, and Mr. Pan Xuewen, Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia. The delegation counterpart includes H.E. Hor Namhong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of foreign affairs and international cooperation; H.E. Cham Prasidh, Minister of state and commerce; H.E. Suy Sem, Minister of industry, mine and energy; H.E. Khek Sysoda, Cambodia ambassador to China.

Medium Voltage Rural Grid Extension Phase1 & Substations EPC Project is supported by the China government concessional loan,and covers four provinces: Kampong Cham, Prey Veng, Kampong Speu and Preah Sihanouk. This Project includes the extension of Medium Voltage Rural Grid and two 115kV Substations, including engineering, procurement and construction, the completed term is 36 months.

This top-prioritized Project listed by Cambodia government shall develop the Rural Grid of Cambodia and improve the resident’s life by favoring local economy. CHMC promises a good-organized job in this Project, contribute best efforts to Cambodia’s economy and social development, and enhance the traditional good-relationship between Cambodia and China.
