On August 20, the 115kV SWS substation in Cambodia Phnom Penh Loop Line Transmission System Project, operated with electricity power successfully. All electrified equipment had endured several times of voltage surges in the grid, and all equipment operated normally after the tests. Till 19:00 o’clock, August 21, the 24-hour-test for all electrified equipment was accomplished, which indicated that the commissioning for all electrical equipment in the SWS substation was completely finished, and the SWS substation had met the requirements to be transferred and for a test run. Thereby, from August 21, the SWS substation had been transferred to the user EDC and began the test run with electricity power.
The SWS substation was one of the key parts in the Phnom Penh Loop Line Transmission System Project, and it was also the hinge substation project for 115kV voltage grade in Cambodia Phnom Penh area. Its construction and trial operation relieved the electricity tension in the west area of Phnom Penh, and played an important role in enhancing the power supply reliability and safety of the grid.
The SWS substation’s successful trial operation with electricity power, symbolized that a mayor progress had been accomplished in the Phnom Penh Loop Line Transmission System Project. Though encountered with difficulty of land expropriation and many other unfavorable factors, CHMC Project Department still had confidence, and would try their best to go on finishing the left work in the Project, made the Project a landmark and brought glory to CHMC.
