KICK-OFF MEETING OF CAMBODIA PHNOM PENH-BAVET POWER TRANSMISSION PROJECT, WAS HELD IN PHNOM PENH

On Dec. 4, the kick-off meeting of the Cambodia Phnom Penh-Bavet Power Transmission Project was officially held at the meeting room of Electricite DU Cambodge(EDC). The meeting was chaired by Mr. CHAN SADAWATH, deputy GM of EDC, attended by Mr. Wang Weiguo, vice President of CHMC , as well as representatives from Cambodia Financial and Economic Ministry, Industry and Minerals Ministry, and the EDC management. This kick-off meeting marked a formal execution of the 3rd EPC power project contracted by CHMC in Cambodia.

At the meeting, Mr. Wang introduced the Project Management Team, and showed that CHMC and EDC had established long-time friendship and enjoyed good relationship by cooperating the Phnom Penh Loop Line Transmission Project and the Rural Power Grid Upgrading Project (PhaseⅠ). Both parties felt very happy about the 3rd cooperation, and hoped to continue and promote further cooperation in future. He also pointed out that: Phnom Penh-Bavet power transmission line project is constructed under the support of the preferential loans from Chinese government, and CHMC Project Management personnel should keep close collaboration with EDC, ensure the project to be finished with high quality as per master schedule. Mr. Zhao Guangping, PM of this project, later introduced the project profile and preparation work for construction, indicated that design and purchasing work for Phnom Penh South Sub-station had been finished, and the Project would be launched soon.

Mr. CHAN SADAWATH, vice president of EDC, said that EDC had enjoyed very pleasant cooperation with CHMC in recent years, and they were quite satisfied with the Project under construction, and extended their gratitude to Chinese government and CHMC. EDC would enhance the cooperation with CHMC; accelerate the construction so as to complete the project at the earliest, and to improve the power shortage condition to benefit local people.

As per schedule, the route survey for Phnom Penh-Bavet Power Transmission Line Project and the expansion work for Phnom Penh South Substation, shall be started soon.
