CHMC SIGNED THE LAOS 500KV HV POWER TRANSMISSION EPC CONTRACT

In the morning of Jan. 22, CHMC signed the Laos Salavan- Sekong 500kV HV Power Transmission Project EPC Contract with Electricite DU Laos(EDL) , and the scope of supply includes two 500kV substations and 72km 500kV transmission lines. The Contract period is 42 months.

As representatives of the two parties, Mr. Lu Wenjun (President of CHMC), Mr. WangWeiguo (vice President of CHMC), Mr. Sisavat (President of EDL), Mr. Bo Wong (vice President of of EDL) respectively signed the relevant documents. And officers from the two governments also attended the ceremony, including His Excellency Mr. Somsavad Lengsavath (vice Prime Minister of Laos government), His Excellency Mr. Khammany (vice minister of the Energy and Mines Ministry of Laos), Mr. Guan Huabing, Chinese Ambassador in Laos, Mr. Zhao Wenyu, Chinese economic and commercial counselor in Laos, and officials from other Laos ministries.

‘Consolidating the traditional market, expanding Africa market, marching into Latin America market’ is CHMC’s international market development strategy in recent years. Mr. Lu by himself leads the marketing team working on the front line, actively developing the markets in ASEAN and south-east Asian countries. In Laos market, the team is dedicated to looking for business opportunities, conducts the market research and analysis, screens the project, prioritizes the power projects, and advocates the project development. For this project, it only takes 2.5 months from the MOU signing to contract signing, which sets a new record for the company, spending shortest time from entering into new market to the successful contract signing.

The successful contract signing of the Laos Power Transmission EPC Contract brings fresh blood to CHMC’s market covering in Southeast region, which reinforces its competitive advantage in area of power transmission, lays good foundation and creates conditions for other similar projects and hydro-power plant construction projects in future.
