CHMC SIGNS THE EPC CONTRACT OF THE LAOS 230KV POWER TRANSMISSION PROJECT

On July 28th, 2014, under the witness of China President Xi Jinping and Laos President Choummaly Sayasone, CHMC and Electricite du Laos (EDL) signed the EPC Contract of Laos 230kV Nabong-Nam Ngum 1-Hinheup Power Transmission Line Project. Mr. Lu Wenjun (Board Chairman and President of CHMC) and Mr. Sisavat (President of EDL) , acting as representatives for each Party, signed the relevant papers.

Scope of supply in the Contract includes 1 newly-built substation, 2 extended sub-stations, and the 90km power transmission line from Vientiane Hinheup Substation, passing Nam Ngum 1 Substation, to Vientiane Nabong Substation. The construction period is expected to be 36 months. The Project plans to use the preferential buyer's credits from the Export-Import Bank of China, and shall complete the power supply network of the Laos capital, enlarge the power transmission capacity and enhance the power supply stability, gear up the local social and economic development.

Early this year on January 22, CHMC has signed the EPC Contract of Salavan-Sekong 500kV HV Power Transmission Project, and now this contract signature sees CHMC another achievement in Laos market by sticking to the “Region Rolling Development” strategy, further consolidates CHMC competitive strength in the power transmission area, and lays stronger foundation for the future project development in Laos market. CHMC shall follow the contract requirements, actively cooperates with the Owner to carry out the work concerned so as to ensure the smooth Project implementation through concerted efforts.
