On November 13, CHMC and Electricite DU Cambodge (EDC), signed the EPC Project Contract for Cambodia Rural Grid Extension Phase Ⅲ and Phase Ⅳ in Shanghai. CHMC Chairman and President, Mr. Lu Wenjun, and EDC President, Mr. Keo Rottanak signed the Contract together.
This Project covers 11 provinces in Cambodia, including one 1300 kilometers medium-voltage power line, as well as the pole mounted equipment, the underwater cable installation; one 115kV power transmission line connecting Laos border for 220 kilometers, and one new-built 115/35kV Chey Sen substation in Preah Vihear Province.
Electricity power shortage is now still prevalent in most of the rural area in Cambodia, and the grid transmission is the bottleneck. Cambodian government has supported greatly to the rural grid construction, put forward the rural power supply target: Power supply shall be popularized in all rural areas in 2020, and 70% families in the whole country can use power in 2030.

CHMC and EDC together actively promote Cambodia rural grid extension and modification in large scale, which is planned to be implemented and pushed ahead stage by stage. The Project, Cambodia Rural Grid Extension PhaseⅠ, was carried out in 2011, and had been accomplished in 2014 ahead of the schedule. The good social benefits and comprehensive economic benefits produced by the Project, has prompted the Cambodian government to speed up and devote more in its rural grid extension. The construction area graduallyextends from those provinces surrounding Phnom Penh, to most of the provinces in Cambodia border zone.
The successful signature of the Project Contract for Cambodia Rural Grid Extension Phase Ⅲ and Phase Ⅳ, is another achievement to CHMC for its extensive development in Cambodia market, and further deepening cooperation in grid construction field, after it had got the acceptance certificate of the Rural Grid Extension PhaseⅠ, and the Rural Grid Extension Phase Ⅱ also contracted by CHMC, had formally entered into force and was implemented.
