On the morning of March 10th at Phnom Penh, CHMC and Electricity of Cambodia (EDC) signed one EPC Contract of the 230kV Loop Transmission Line of the SouthWest Part of Cambodia (I phase). The Board Chairman and President of CHMC Mr. Lu Wenjun, and President of EDC Mr. Keo Rottanak affixed their signatures on the Contract.

First phase of this Project includes the construction of one 440 kilometers long 230kV power transmission line with a master schedule of 36 months. And this is a preferential buyer’s credit project loaned by Chinese government.

At the time being, southwest provinces in Cambodia are still stuck in power shortage, thus Cambodian government has to purchase power from neighboring countries to meet its own power requirement, but the transmission is a bottleneck. The southwest loop-line composes an important part of Cambodia government’s 2020 State Grid Planning, and its construction shall enhance the stability and reliability of the grid in Cambodia southwest region, strongly boost the Cambodia economic and social development, and effectively improve the local people’s livelihood.

In recent years, CHMC has always been adhering to the strategy of “Regional Rolling Development” in Cambodian market, deeply develops the Cambodia power market, and works together with EDC to actively promote the construction of Cambodia state grid. Up to now, CHMC has undertaken construction work for 6 power transmission and transformation projects in Cambodia, and these projects were scheduled in an overall plan, but implemented at different phases. At the signature ceremony, CHMC President Mr. Lu Wenjun clearly expressed that: CHMC would supply the best quality equipment and most outstanding management model, ensure to finish the project on time with guaranteed quality, and contribute to Cambodia’s power construction and social and economic development.
