On July 3, Premier of Tajikistan Republic, Mr. Kokhir Rasulzoda, accompanied by some officials, inspected the Cryolite Project Site. The Project was an EPC one and overall contracted by CHMC (Owner of the Project is Tajikistan Aluminum Company (Abbreviated as TALCO)). CHMC vice President, Mr. Xiao Ping, and other relevant personnel, greeted Mr. Kokhir Rasulzoda on the Project Site, and kept company with Mr. Kokhir Rasulzoda during the inspection.
This is the second time that the Premier, Mr. Kokhir Rasulzoda, visited the Cryolite Project Site. Mr. Kokhir Rasulzoda took an inspection of the construction on Site, and inquired some questions. CHMC vice President, Mr. Xiao Ping replied these inquiries one by one, in detail. The Premier was satisfied with the progress of the Project over the past period.
After the site inspection, Mr. Kokhir Rasulzoda had a meeting with Tajikistan government officials, leaders from TALCO, and CHMC personnel. At the meeting, CHMC vice President, Mr. Xiao Ping, made a detailed report to the Premier on the Project progress that: the construction company had arrived on Site; the equipment checking and repairing was under way; the construction preparation had started; and the civil engineering of the storehouse for cryolite and aluminum fluoride, as well as the roads in the plant, was proceeding smoothly. In China, the preliminarydesign review for the Sulphoacid Project had been finished and the equipment biding was ongoing; the detailed survey for the Sulphoacid Plant was about to begin. During the meeting, TALCO also made a report to the Premier on some pertinent topics.
The Premier expressed his satisfaction to CHMC and TALCO’s work in the Project, and handled the difficulties on the spot that CHMC encountered during the Project implementation. Meanwhile, the Premier hoped CHMC to hire the local people as many as possible, to relieve the tension of the local employment, and to make due contribution to the local social development.
TALCO President, Mr. Khabilov, the General Manger of TALCO Management Company, Mr. Zappolov, the governor of Tajikistan Sitanya Bay State (where The Project Site sits), and other relevant personnel, joined the inspection and meeting.
On July 24, 2014, CHMC singed a general Contract (EPC) with TALCO, which included the Cryolite Project, the Aluminum Fluoride Project and the Sulphoacid Project, in one package. During the APEC Conference on Nov. 7, 2014, the Contract Financing Agreement was signed; On Mar. 13, 2015, the Financing Agreement went into effect; On June 16, 2015, the first start-up fund was loaned and received, so the Contract formally started implementation; On June 25, 2015, the first shipment of goods arrived on the Project Site in Tajikistan.
So far, the Cryolite Project and the Aluminum Fluoride Project has fully resumed, and all work was carried out in order: the first construction workers have arrived on Site, the maintenance and repairing of the machines and tools, equipment sorting and counting, and partial concrete construction has begun, the preliminarydesign review for the Sulphoacid Project has been finished, and entered to the stage of construction drawing design, the geological survey engineers would arrive in Site soon, and the bidding for equipment and materials has started.
