CHMC SIGNED THE EPC CONTRACT FOR UPPERBALUCHAUNGHYDROPOWERPROJECT

On November 4, CHMC and Myanmar Ministry of Electric Power (MOEP) held the signing ceremony at MOEP 1# Meeting Room in Capital Naypyidaw, for UPPER BALUCHAUNG Hydropower Project. Vice President Xiao Ping, on behalf of CHMC, signed the contract. More than 50 attended the ceremony, including MOEP vice Minister, directors from Hydropower Project Dept. and other departments, representatives from China EXIM Bank, and etc..

The Project scope of work covers design, equipment supply, installation, commissioning, operation training for two powerhouses of the cascade hydropower station with installed capacity of 30MW, metal structures, transmission line. The completion schedule is 28 months. Finance of the Project shall come from the cooperation fund applied by Myanmar government through China EXIM Bank.

Myanmar is one of the first overseas markets after CHMC implemented the “Go Globally” policy, and is the market we have made fruitful achievements, which could be witnessed by the successful projects of sugarcane refinery, coal-fired plant, roads, railways, bridges, knitwear mill, open-pit coal mine, hydropower station, and transmission lines. In recent years, CHMC has always closely followed the state “One Belt One Road” strategy, consolidated the traditional market, focused on the countries along and surround the “One Belt One Road”, especially paid high attention to Myanmar’s market.
