SASAC Deputy Director Took a Site Survey and Investigation of the Cambodia Stung Tatay Hydropower BOT Project

Deputy Director of SASAC (Chinese State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission),  Mr. Meng Jianmin with the team totaling 6 people took a site survey of the Cambodia Stung Tatay Hydropower BOT Project. This Project is invested and constructed by CHMC (SINOMACH’s subsidiary corporation).

Mr. Meng arrived at Phnom Penh on 18th after finishing the survey and investigation in Vietnam, and CHMC Board Chairman and President Mr. Lu Wenjun, General Manager of Beijing Sanlian International Investment Co., Ltd., Ms. Lv Wei, Vice-president of CHMC and General Manager of Stung Tatay Hydropower Station, Mr. Zhu Xu, Vice-president of CHMC, Mr. Wang Weiguo, accompanied the survey. They visited Ambassador Bu Jian Guo at the China Embassy in Cambodia, extended the gratitude for her support to the SOE investment in Cambodia.

On the morning 19th, Mr. Meng with the team took a four-hour ride to the Stung Tatay Hydropower Project site, carefully looked at the reservoir area, dam site and the powerhouse. During the survey, the whole team visited the office area and living area, ate and lived at site together with other employees, and carefully listened to the report of Mr. Lu Wenjun. Mr. Lu talked about the investment and operation, project execution, financial supervision, risk management of the Stung Tatay Hydropower Project, and “One Belt One Road” strategy implemented by CHMC, as well as the major measures and plan to advocate the international production capacity cooperation , and etc.

Mr. Meng gave high marks to the Project that it was completed ahead of schedule, started commercial operation on schedule, and met the designed capacity at the very first year of operation. And he also asked CHMC to shoulder the responsibility as one of the corporation directly managed by Chinese Central government, perform the obligations, benefit the local, and make more contributions to the friendship between China and Cambodia.
