On March 30,2016, CHMC signed the Cambodia Rural Grid Extension Phase 5 & Phase 6 EPC Project Contract, with Electricite DU Cambodge(EDC). CHMC Board Chairman and President, Mr. Lu Wenjun, and Keo Rattanak His Excellency, Director-general of the EDC, mutually affixed their signatures on the Contract.
This Projectcovers the area of 13 provinces in Cambodia, including the construction of one 2525km medium voltage transmission line and the installation of the column equipment, the construction of two new 115kV substations, as well as one 22km-115kV high voltage transmission line which connects the two substations.The Contract value is about 100 million USD.
The accomplishment of this Project shall enormously improve the electricity powersupply in the provinces and cities along the line. More than 50 thousand familiesin the no-power-supply area, are scheduled to connect with the grid, which could not only supply power to the rural areas along the line, but also provide guarantee for the electricity supply to the local agricultural sidelines andindustry production. This Project has an important significance in perfecting Cambodiastate grid layout, propelling the local social and economic development. At the same time, it lays a solid foundation for the people's livelihood policy “Power to Each Village” in Cambodia.
This is the 7 thelectrical engineering project which is successfully developed by CHMC by its“Regional Roll ”Strategy, in Cambodia. This Project opens another new page in the Cambodia electricity transmission and transformation industry, after CHMC has signed the Cambodia Rural Grid Extension Phase 3 & Phase 4 EPC Project Contract in the year 2014.
