On September 8, 2016, with the witness of Chinese Premier, Mr. Li Keqiang, and Lao Premier Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith, Export-Import Bank of China and Lao Finical Ministry formally signed the Loan Agreement for Laos Nam Ngum 4 Hydropower EPC Project which was generally contracted by CHMC, in Lao Premier Office, Vientiane. The signature of the Loan Agreement, built a solid foundation for the implementation of the Project later.
The Laos Nam Ngum 4 Hydropower Project is one of the key projects in the “One Belt One Road” cooperation between China and Laos, with an installed capacity of 240MW, and is funded by Chinese government preferential export buyer's credit. After the Project Contract signature, it has been greatly supported by Chinese government and Laos government, as well as by related sides. When the Project is accomplished, it shall significantly improve the power supply in Laos which has been suffered by power shortage in the past, and efficiently boost the local economical and social development.
