On October 13, 2016, With the mutual witness by Chinese President Mr. Xi Jinping and Cambodian Prime Minister Mr. Hun Sen, the Export-Import Bank of China and Financial Ministry of Cambodia, officially signed the Loan Agreement of the Preferential Export Buyer's Credit for the Cambodia Rural Grid Expansion (PhaseⅤ, PhaseⅥ) EPC Project which was generally contracted by CHMC, in the Cambodian Premier Office, Edifice of Peace. The conclusion of the Loan Agreement signified that the Project Contract materially came into force, within one year after its signature.
Cambodia Rural Grid Expansion (PhaseⅤ, PhaseⅥ) Project Contract was signed on March 30, 2016. The transformation and transmission line in this Project covers 13 provinces, which consists of an important part in the Cambodian State Grid. When the Project is accomplished, it would benefit 98400 households, efficiently relieve the power shortage in the covered area, and improve the power quality in the rural area. Besides, this Project would promote the development of the clothing, spinning and weaving, rubber, manufacturing and other industries, as well as the development of the agriculture around, ameliorate the investment climate, boost the employment, with a good indirect economic result. It would support the Cambodian government to achieve its strategy to deliver power to each village, remarkably improve the living condition for the local people, consummate the Cambodian State Grid arrangement, and propel the social and economic development.
