On February 16, 2017, CHMC and Electricité Du Cambodge (EDC)) signed the Cambodia State Grid 230kV Transmission and Transformation Project Phase Ⅱ(South-west Loop Line and the left parts of East Line) EPC Contract. CHMC Chairman of Board, Mr. Lu Wenjun, and EDC Managing Director H.E. Keo Rottanak respectively on behalf of each Party, signed the Contract.
The Contract includes the new construction of the Kampong Thom Substation, the East Phnom Penh Substation and other three substations, the extension of the Stung Treng Substation, the Kratie Substation and other six substations, the construction of the 85km-230kV transmission and the transformation line from Tatay to BotomSakor, the construction of the 72km-115kV transmission and the transformation line from Ream to ChamkarLoung. The Project covers nine provinces and municipalities in Cambodia. After the Project finishes, it would magnificently improve the power supply grid, enhance the power transmission capacity, in the East Part and South-west Part of Cambodia. It is planned to connect over 250000 households to the power net in the former non-power area, change the situation that some local areas had to import power abroad, supply a steady, cheap and home-produced power to the local people, the mining zone and the industry zone.
From Year 2009, CHMC continuously strengthened the cooperation with EDC, accomplishing the Tatay Hydropower Station BOT Project, the Phnom Penh Loop Project, the Rural Grid (Phase Ⅰ) Transmission and Transformation Project and the Rural Grid (PhaseⅡ) Transmission and Transformation Project, in succession. The Phnom Penh-Bavet 115kV Transmission and Transformation Project was successfully switched on, at 10:00 am of February 2, 2017, and it achieved the charged trial-operation of the whole line and the two new substations at one time. Currently, China and Cambodia meet the important opportunity for development. Based on the “One Road, One Belt” Strategy, China and Cambodia strengthened their cooperation in the infrastructure, continued to collaborate extensively for mutual benefits, in economical and social development and other fields. CHMC would win the clients’ acceptance by its excellent project quality, construction efficiency and good services. CHMC and EDC would keep reinforcing the cooperation, speeding the power grid construction, to supply the steady and cheap power to more Cambodian families, make new and more contribution to the prosperous development of Cambodia, to the happy life of Cambodian people, to the traditional friendship between China and Cambodia.
