On September 3, 2017, CHMC Vice President, Mr. Wang Weiguo met President of the Republic of Guinea, Mr. Alpha Condé who was invited to attend the “Dialogue of Emerging Market and Developing Counties” in China.

President Alpha Condé was very concerned about the progress of the Guinea Water Supply Project. He stated that this Project had always been remembered by Guinea, and this Project was among those which at the earliest were advanced by China and Guinea. Mr. Wang Weiguo said that China Ministry of Commerce and CHMC had been working hard to push this Project ahead, since President Alpha Condé visited China last year; a technical investigation group was sent to Guinea in June 2017, making a full survey on the water supply for the whole Guinea capital area, and affirmed that the reliability of the solution of the Forth Water Supply Plan. Mr. Wang Weiguo said that CHMC would continued to actively coordinate with China Ministry of Commerce and the Export-Import Bank of China, as well as others, to fulfill the Project financing as soon as possible; CHMC was very confident to implement this Project well, to realize President Alpha Condé’s promise to the Conakry people that they should have clean water supply. President Alpha Condé was very happy after the report, and he again expressed he would continue to support and forward this Project to go into effect as soon as possible.
