On March 3, 2018, the commencement ceremony of the Cambodia State Grid 230kV Transmission and Transformation Phase Ⅱ Project (The First Part of the East Loop Line), was held in the Project site in Kratie Province, Cambodia. Officials of Electricité Du Cambodge (EDC), and CHMC Project staffs, representatives of the design institute and the construction company were present, which symbolized that the Project officially entered into the stage of construction.
In the ceremony, the Cambodian Project manger stated that CHMC and EDC had successful cooperation in many electricity transmission and transformation projects, which furthered the friendship and cooperation between CHMC and EDC. He firmly believed that it must be able to solve the power shortage in Cambodian North-east area, improve Cambodian state grid, and make new contribution to the traditional friendship between China and Cambodia, by the good cooperation.
This Project had obtained a high attention paid by the leaders of Chinese government and Cambodian government. Chinese Primer Mr. Li Keqiang, and Cambodian Primer Mr. Hun Sen, jointly witnessed the loan agreement signature of the Project. The Project contract includes the construction of 2 new substations, a 275km long 230kV electricity transmission and transformation line, with a construction period of 36 months.
