On September 18, 2019, Cambodian Prime Minister Mr. Hun Sen had an interview with SINOMACH-HE Board Chairman, Mr. Lu Wenjun, who arrived in Cambodia for a visit.

 

Prime Minister Hun Sen expressed his welcome to Mr. Lu Wenjun and other guests. He stated that the 'Belt and Road Initiative' proposed by Chinese President Mr. Xi Jinping, benefited all participating and co-constructing parties, including Cambodia. The hydropower stations and other infrastructures invested and constructed by Chinese enterprises, played an important role in promoting Cambodia's economic development and improving people's livelihood, which also laid the foundation for the continuous development of Cambodian national economy in the future. Tatay Hydropower Station, was one of the most successful projects invested and constructed by Chinese enterprises in Cambodian power industry. On the basis of Cambodian Electricity Development Plan for One Decade, Prime Minister Hun Sen hoped that CHMC would speed up related projects construction, and actively participate in more areas of investment and construction in Cambodia.

 

Mr. Lu Wenjun stated that for a long time, under the right leadership of Prime Minister Hun Sen, Cambodian government was committed to vigorously developing economy, strengthening the infrastructure construction and improving the lives of the people, and had made remarkable achievements. Currently, Chinese 'Belt and Road Initiative' was appropriate with Cambodian national development “Rectangular Strategy”, which created favorable conditions for Chinese enterprises to invest in Cambodia, brought opportunities for Cambodia's economic and social development. Cambodian Tatay Hydropower Station which was invested and constructed by CHMC (a subsidiary of SINOMACH-HE), not only alleviated the shortage of electricity supply in Cambodia, promote the local socio-economic development, created job opportunities, but also brought good and stable returns to the stockholder  corporations. As the investment party of this Project, CHMC (a subsidiary of SINOMACH-HE), was an active performer of the 'Belt and Road Initiative'; and Tatay Hydropower Station was one of the successful demonstration projects invested by Chinese Central Enterprises abroad. Since the early time when the Project feasibility study report was in compiling, Prime Minister Hun Sen had given his cordial care and strong support to Cambodian Tatay Hydropower Station Project; during the River Closure Ceremony and the Operation Ceremony, Prime Minister Hun Sen separately visited the site inspecting and directing work; Mr. Lu Wenjun expressed his most sincere thanks to Prime Minister Hun Sen. He said that CHMC had actively participated in the constructions of many main lines for the power transmission, substations in Cambodian National Grid, as well as the Rural Grid Extension and other important projects. Mr. Lu Wenjun stated that CHMC would remain true to its original aspiration and keep its mission firmly in mind, have the confidence and ability to make more contribution to the infrastructure construction in Cambodia.

 

Mr. Lu Wenjun said that through the meeting SINOMACH-HE gained a deeper understanding of the investment situation in Cambodia, full of confidence in Cambodia's investment prospects; CHMC (a subsidiary of SINOMACH-HE) would speed up the progress of relevant projects, make new and greater contributions to the traditional friendship between China and Cambodia.

 

President of CMIC (China Machine-Building International Corporation), and Deputy President of CHMC, Mr. Wang Weiguo, attended the meeting.
