On May 28, 2022, the rotor of Unit 1 of Laos Nam Ngum 4 Hydropower Station built by CHMC, was successfully hoisted into place, marking that the installation of Unit 1 of the Project entered the stage of final assembly.

Rotor hoisting is a major milestone node in the electromechanical installation of the hydropower station. CHMC attached great importance to it, and the Project Department carefully checked each safety control point to ensure that every aspect was safe and smooth.

Laos Nam Ngum 4 Hydropower Station has an installed capacity of 240 MW, with three mixed flow units. The assembled rotor has a diameter of 4734 mm and a total weight of 167 tons. In the process of the rotor assembly, CHMC actively cooperated with the owner and supervisor and carefully organized. Before the lifting operation, CHMC and the construction unit made scientific deployment, formulated the lifting plan in advance, disclosed the safety technology to the relevant workers, and carefully inspected and overhauled the bridge machine, sling and other equipment in the main workshop. The hoisting process of the rotor was orderly, the inspection, alignment, adjustment, hoisting and other processes were completed at one time, and the hoisting was accurately installed to the right position. The quality control indicators were up to the requirements of the drawings and standards, which were praised by the owners and supervisors.
