Teachers and Students of Norton University in Cambodia Carried out Study and Research Activities at Tatay Hydropower Station

On May 31, 2024, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Cambodia Tatay Hydropower Station, 143 teachers and students from Norton University in Cambodia walked into Tatay Hydropower Station to carry out social practice activities. Five engineers from EDC Power Generation Department the relevant persons of Tatay Hydropower Station accompanied.


The teachers and students visited Tatay Hydropower Station and the dam area with great interest. During the visit, the professional engineers of Tatay Hydropower and EDC, introduced the basic situation of the hydropower station, and explained the operation principle of the main equipment and systems. The students listened carefully, asked questions and took careful notes.


The visiting and learning content covers the professional knowledge of electrical primary equipment, electrical secondary equipment, machinery, civil construction and so on. The students have an in-depth understanding of the operation principles of hydropower projects and organically integrate theoretical knowledge with production practice. Mr. Chan Mithona, Associate Dean of the School of Sciences at Norton University, said that Tatay Hydropower Station, as a leader in Cambodia's hydropower industry, is a model for Norton University teachers and students to learn from. He showed his thanks to Tatay Hydropower Station for providing a rare hands-on opportunity, this visit and study enhanced the students' professional knowledge and developed their teamwork and problem-solving skills, which will help them stand out in their future careers and become the backbone of Cambodian society building.

Over the past 10 years, Tatay Hydropower Station has not only produced a large amount of clean electricity and made great contributions to the economic and social development of Cambodia, but also fulfilled its corporate social responsibility, actively participated in the educating and training of local Cambodian hydropower professionals, further promoted the cultural exchanges between China and Cambodia, and made new contributions to the friendship between China and Cambodia.
